The Nothing Phone 2A Plus is gearing up to be an upgraded version of the Nothing Phone 2A which launched in March. It’s bringing a few notable improvements, including a beefed-up processor and a better selfie camera. However, the design will largely stay the same, including the signature glyph setup.
Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Display
The display also remains unchanged, with a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. On the back, you’ll find the familiar camera setup, a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens. The front camera, however, gets a significant upgrade to 50MP up from the 32MP on the phone 2A.
Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Processor
Under the hood, the performance gets a boost with the new MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC, replacing the Dimensity 7200 Pro. Now you might recall that the CMF Phone 1 had the Dimensity 7300, which wasn’t a massive leap over the 7200, but this time it’s different. The 7350 Pro comes with two, Cortex A715 cores, clocked 200MHz higher, offering a noticeable performance bump.
Both chips are built on TSMC’s second-gen, 4nm process, and feature octa-core architecture. The 7350 Pro also has a faster Mali-G 610MC4 GPU, clocked up to 1.3GHz, which is 30% faster than the GPU in the 7200 Pro. So on paper, we should see better performance and possibly better power efficiency thanks to nothing’s optimizations.
Nothing Phone 2A+: Battery
As for the battery, the 2A Plus is expected to pack the same 5000mAh capacity as its predecessor, but it’ll charge faster with 50W fast charging, up from 45W on the phone 2A.
Final Thoughts
Now, while all these upgrades are exciting, there’s one thing I’m personally hoping for – a headphone jack. Water resistance is cool and all, but for me, the headphone jack is a must-have.
