iQOO 13 Officially Launches as One of the First Snapdragon 8 Elite-Powered Phones

With Qualcomm’s recent unveiling of the Snapdragon 9 Elite, a wave of new devices equipped with the chipset is set to debut. Leading the charge, though not necessarily in all markets, is the iQOO 13, which had a minor leak last month hinting at its features.

The iQOO 13 launch confirms a unique design detail from the leak RGB lighting around the camera island at the back. This lighting, reminiscent of RGB keyboard animations, serves as more than just a decorative touch; it can function as a notification indicator and react to music playback and charging status.

Key specifications of the iQOO 13 include a 6.82-inch AMOLED QHD+ display with a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a peak brightness reaching 1800 nits. Powering the device is a large 6150 mAh battery with 120W fast charging, which likely supports the RGB lighting alongside other features. Additionally, the device boasts an impressive IP69 water resistance rating.

The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 50MP wide-angle lens on the back, arranged on the camera island. The front features a 32MP camera housed in a punch-hole cutout. Aesthetically, the iQOO 13 retains a similar design to its predecessor, including the Legend Edition with BMW’s iconic three-stripe design.

Available in multiple configurations, the iQOO 13 offers choices between 12GB and 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Pricing starts at CNY3,999 (~$565.00) and goes up to CNY5,199 (~$730.00). While there’s no confirmation of a local release date, based on last year’s schedule, the device is likely to arrive early next month.
