The Neo 7 5G is a new budget-friendly smartphone from iQOO that was released on 16 February 2023. In this review, we’ll dive into its design, display, camera, battery life, performance, network, connectivity, latest price, and more to help you decide if it’s the right choice for you. So let’s begin.
iQOO Neo 7 5G Details
Design and build quality
The iQOO Neo 7 has a glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back, but it feels sturdy and well-built. It’s not the most premium-feeling phone out there, but it’s definitely not cheap either. The phone is available in Interstellar Black and Frost Blue colors, which is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but it still looks pretty good.
The phone is fairly compact, measuring 164.81 x 76.90 x 8.58 mm and weighing 193 grams. It’s not the lightest phone out there, but it’s still comfortable to hold and use. The phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display is not the sharpest out there, but it’s still good enough for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games.
Performance
The iQOO Neo 7 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G processor, which is a budget-friendly chip that’s not the fastest out there. However, it can still handle basic tasks like browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media. The phone also has 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage, which is enough for most users.
I did experience some lag and stutter when using the phone for more demanding tasks like playing games or editing photos. However, overall the performance is good enough for most users.
Battery life
One of the best things about the Neo 7 is its battery life. The phone has a massive 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, which can easily last for two days on a single charge. I got over 10 hours of screen-on time on a single charge, which is impressive.
Camera
The iQOO Neo 7 has a triple-lens rear camera system, consisting of a 64MP main sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera is not the best out there, but it’s good enough for taking casual photos. The main sensor takes decent photos in good lighting conditions, but the quality degrades in low light. The macro sensor is also pretty good for taking close-up shots.
The front-facing camera has a 16MP sensor, which is good enough for taking selfies and video calls.
Software and User Interface
It runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13. The software is pretty basic, but it’s functional and easy to use. The phone also comes with a few pre-installed apps, but you can uninstall them if you don’t need them.
