The One UI 7 is set to be the next significant update for Samsung Galaxy devices built on Android 15. However, specific details about One UI 7 are still under wraps.
Samsung has announced the Samsung Developer Conference 2024, a software-centric event where insights about One UI 7 are anticipated.
The date was shared in June through the Samsung Developers X account, and now, Samsung has unveiled SDC24, providing a wealth of information about the upcoming event. During this conference, Samsung will introduce One UI 7 along with its features.
In addition to One UI 7, discussions will also cover Galaxy Aoi, Tizen, SmartThings, Samsung Health, Knox, and more. The keynote for SDC24 is scheduled for October 3 at 10 a.m.
Attendees can join the event either in person at the San Jose McSenery Convention Center in California or watch it online. Jade Han, CEO and head of the DX Division, will open the event with a keynote centered on Samsung’s AI vision.
It’s expected that AI features will take center stage across all of Samsung’s software offerings, but One UI 7 will also be officially unveiled. If last year’s trend continues, not all features of One UI 7 will be disclosed, but we can expect to learn about several.
Additionally, beta testing for One UI 7 might commence a few weeks before the event, revealing more features through this process. Although Google has postponed the release of Android 15, now expected in mid-October for Pixel devices, this delay shouldn’t hinder Samsung’s timeline, as they are already behind schedule.
Before launching One UI 7, Samsung needs to roll out One UI 6.11, which should be in progress. Last year, SDC23 occurred on October 5, with One UI 6 debuting in the last week of October.
Therefore, we can anticipate that the stable version of One UI 7 will be available by the end of October 2024, with the Galaxy S24 series being the first to receive it.
