Whether you’re multitasking between apps, browsing the web, or playing graphically intensive games, the phone can handle it all without breaking a sweat. The phone runs on the latest Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, offering a user-friendly and up-to-date experience. Additionally, you can choose between 128GB or 256GB of storage, depending on your needs.

Powering the device is a massive 5000mAh battery, ensuring you can stay connected and productive throughout the day. Even if you’re a heavy user, the battery should easily last you a full day on a single charge. When it’s time to recharge, the phone supports 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging, allowing you to quickly top up your battery in just 19 minutes.

Network and Connectivity:

The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G lives up to its name. It supports the latest 5G network for blazing-fast internet speeds, allowing you to download movies in seconds, stream high-resolution videos without buffering, and enjoy lag-free online gaming. In addition to 5G, the phone also offers comprehensive connectivity options, including Wi-Fi for internet access at home or at hotspots, Bluetooth for connecting wireless headphones and speakers, GPS for navigation and location services, NFC for contactless payments, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

However, keep in mind that the phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you’ll need to use a USB-C adapter or wireless headphones, and it also doesn’t have an IR blaster, which means you won’t be able to control your TV or other IR-enabled devices with the phone.

Sensors and Other Features:

The phone features an advanced under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient unlocking. Additionally, it includes essential sensors like an accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass, which are crucial for various functionalities. The accelerometer detects the phone’s orientation and motion, enabling features like automatic screen rotation and motion-based games.

The gyroscope complements the accelerometer by tracking the phone’s angular motion and rotation, further enhancing gaming and augmented reality experiences. Finally, Compass helps with location-based services and navigation apps.

Striking a Balance:

Pros:

  • Versatile Camera System: The triple-camera setup, with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 64MP periscope lens with 3x zoom, offers diverse options for capturing various scenarios.

Verdict: A Compelling Mid-Range Choice:

The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G offers a compelling package for users seeking a capable and affordable mid-range smartphone. Its strengths lie in its camera versatility, long battery life with fast charging, and smooth display.

However, potential buyers should be aware of the use of plastic materials, the lack of wireless charging, and the absence of some convenient features like a headphone jack and an IR blaster. Ultimately, the decision comes down to individual priorities and whether the trade-offs are acceptable for the offered features and price point.
